Using Color Opposite to Tame a Colorful Interior Design

Who says that you have to settle on a few colors in a room – why not go all out and create a design that showcases all of your favorite bold colors, like this one that I created on Project Decor…..

The key to making a multi-colored interior design work is the usage of color opposites to help tame the colors and focus the design scheme. Select your favorite color from all of the colors in the design and pair it with the color that is opposite of it on the color wheel. In this instance, I selected blue and tangerine, although red and green (used in a way that doesn’t evoke the Holidays) would have also achieved the same goal. Using a duo of color opposites will enable those colors to lead the design and keep the other colors as the supporting cast of a colorful production.
